A true Libertarian asks: Why does Washington need or want this kind of power? This is pathetic.
Once I was on the air in Cleveland (1996, on my sabbatical from Lansing:) ), and somebody threw a switch and I was live on every station in town for about 2 minutes.
They have been building this "control system" for years (yes, before Obama) to seize control of every radio and tv transmitter in the "event of a national emergency." Duh ... I don't know why that wasn't done during 9/11, which is about as close to a national emergency as I've ever seen (or ever care to).
What do you make of this?
WASHINGTON: The Federal Communications Commission today approved an order to conduct the first national test of the Emergency Alert System. The commission voted unanimously to adopt a Third Report and Order that sets forth rules for the test, to be initiated by a presidential alert from Washington to TV, radio, cable and satellite systems across the country. No president has ever triggered an emergency alert, and the system has never been tested intentionally.

Oh, I respect Beck. BUT - he gets a little too "hide in the basement" at times.

BUT things he's been called crazy for eventually come to be. He researches facts and reports them, scary or otherwise. and he hasn't cried in a looong time. :)

Back to the FCC and the White House, Why the need to take over every signal covering the land? Centralization always fails. Ineptness. Inefficiency.
Well this brings us back to the problem of to much Government involvement...Bring back Democracy and get rid of this Socialistic Government that this county has become...Lets see can't smoke in public,Government involvement in the Automotive Industry,Out of Control Spending,and again what Happened to OUR FREEDOM I firmly believe this Country has forgotten what it has been built on... FREEDOM to do what we want when we want without being told we can or can't do it because somebody in Government doesn't like it..Keep going on this kind of tract and pace and what is happening in the Middle East will be here in our Country..
I believe the seeds are already being planted for that very thing to happen here in the US...sad but very possible.
